Kade Verwey was 15 when he got his first taste of racing. Inspired by his racer dad, the Silverstone-based youngster began his journey in the Aprilia Superteen series.
Finishing a credible ninth in his rookie year, he returned for a second season in 2016, becoming an instant frontrunner and was a favourite for the title until he suffered a broken ankle in a crash mid-season. He also got the chance to contest several rounds of the popular European Junior Cup which was run in conjunction with the FIM Superbike World Championship, becoming a regular top 20 finisher.
The following season he became a BSB paddock regular as he tackled the KTM Junior Cup, finishing his rookie year sixth overall despite missing seven races with a broken elbow he sustained whilst testing. He also got his first taste of 600cc machinery in 2017 as he fitted in some club races around his main championship to get ready for a new challenge in 2018.
Joining the new British Junior Supersport Championship grid, he spent two years in the class, narrowly missing out on the 2019 title by one point before making the move to the Pirelli National Superstock 600 series.
After two years in the highly-competitive class, hampered by the Pandemic, Kade switched to 1000cc power for two seasons in the competitive Pirelli National Superstock Championship. He quickly adapted to the bigger bike and was soon a top 10 finisher, his best result coming at Knockhill when he finished seventh.
Now it’s time for Kade’s next big challenge, as he steps up to the prestigious Bennetts British Superbike Championship with the Tactix by Lloyd & Jones BMW team in the new BSB Pathway class.
