Ryde leads Brookes by 0.088s ahead of Datatag Qualifying

22 August 2020

Kyle Ryde topped the Bennetts British Superbike Championship final free practice ahead of this afternoon’s Datatag Qualifying and opening race at Snetterton, edging out Josh Brookes just 0.088s in a hectic end to the session.

Ryde’s best time of the session came in the final five minutes as he set a time that put him marginally ahead of VisionTrack Ducati’s Brookes, who had taken the position at the top of the times in the closing stages.

Bradley Ray had a resurgent session for the SYNETIQ BMW team, moving into the top five before posting the third fastest lap time, to put him back up the sharp end, forcing yesterday’s fastest rider, Danny Buchan into fourth place.

McAMS Yamaha completed the top five with Jason O'Halloran holding the advantage over championship leader Glenn Irwin and Christian Iddon on the second of the VisionTrack Ducatis. Lee Jackson, Gino Rea on his debut weekend with Buildbase Suzuki, and Ryan Vickers completed the top ten.
