Reeves and Rousseau grabbed the opening race win in the opening Santander Salt International Sidecar Superprix and Molson Group British Sidecar race. Ellis/Richardson led the way at the end of the opening lap, ahead of Reeves and Rousseau with pole position holders Kershaw and Charlwood slipping back to third. Streuer and De Haas moved up to third on lap two whilst a string of fast laps from Reeves/Rousseau saw them close up on the leaders, finding a way through on lap five.
Drama struck at the end of lap 8 when series leaders Kershaw/Charlwood were forced to retire from third place. Coming down to the final lap, Reeves/Rousseau were able to fend off a late challenge from Ellis/Richardson to take the win with Streuer/De Haas completing the podium.
