Harvey Claridge took victory on the final lap of the opening Honda British Talent Cup race of the weekend at Donington Park in wet conditions, with Eddie O’Shea second and Charlie Farrar third.
It was Farrar who made the best of starts, taking the lead after the opening lap with O’Shea and Claridge just behind, and O’Gorman fourth. The battle for the lead then began to heat up, with O’Shea taking to the front by half-race distance, holding a 0.5 second gap over Claridge and Farrer.
But with two laps to go O’Shea and Claridge pulled away and began to battle for the lead, with O’Shea notching up a new lap record in the process. The duo swapped places as they picked up their pace in the pouring rain. But it was Claridge who took the victory on the final lap, with an odious move around the outside at the final corner.
