CDH Racing announce Owens return for 2021 season ahead of Brands Hatch

09 October 2020

CDH Racing have announced that Josh Owens will remain with the team for a second consecutive season, confirming their return to the series in 2021 ahead of next weekend’s final round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship.

Next year will be Dean Hipwell's team's third season in the Superbike class and they aim to make big strides forward, after Owens joined the team in 2020 after podium success in the British GP2 Championship in 2019.

The team are now eager to build on this year’s experiences as Owens aims to score his first point in the class at Brands Hatch.

Owens said: “I’m really happy to be staying with CDH Racing for my second year in Superbikes. I feel that we as a team have made massive improvements with the bike and I feel that I have become a stronger rider on a Superbike. I’m excited to get another year under my belt and continue to learn alongside CDH Racing.

“This year has been strange with only having six events and no fans, so hopefully next year it’s somewhat back to normal and fans can return.  I want to thank the team for giving me this opportunity to stay with them and of course a huge thank you to my sponsors for staying on board during these times.

Team Owner Dean Hipwell commented: “We are happy to announce that Josh will be continuing with us for next season. I think the continuity will help both us and Josh progress up the grid in 2021. Having the deal agreed early means we can prepare over the winter with a clear goal in mind.

“2020 has been such a strange year for everyone and hopefully the fans and some normality can return. I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who’s helped us and looking to continue that support into next year, we really can’t do with without you! We are looking forward to finishing the season on a high at Brands Hatch now next weekend.”
