Christian Iddon is excited for the ZYN British Superbike Championship return to the TT Circuit Assen, a track where he was victorious last season.
Iddon has claimed top five finishes with the Sencat Racing Yamaha team this season and is determined to put on a strong performance for the fans at the TT Circuit Assen to kick off the final three rounds of the season.
Iddon said: “Last year Assen was the highlight of my season, winning there was just incredible really. It was without a doubt the highlight of my year, but even without winning, Assen has always been one of the rounds that I look forward to the most.
“I enjoy everything about it! The mini cruise on the way over that is fun, the track is fantastic and the crowd is great. The home fans really have a passion for BSB it seems, and we also have a lot of travelling fans from the UK and Europe too, which is pretty special. It has always been pretty good for me in terms of my pace, I have always gone well there pretty much on whatever bike I have been on, even in Supersport before BSB.
“I think overall the last three rounds I really want to try and perform and show the steps that we myself and the Sencat Racing Yamaha team have been making, as there has been progress but it just hasn’t shown in the results. I just hope that everything can just click together at some point and we will be able to show that progress which is there on the inside but just hasn’t outwardly been seen.
“I also almost consider Assen to be my home round actually! It is my local track as it is the one that takes the least time to drive to compared to any other BSB round. So if the Dutch fans want to adopt me as a local then I will gratefully accept that and any strop waffles are more than welcome!”
