Quattro Group British Supersport Championship: Brilliant Bayliss at the double

20 September 2026

Oli Bayliss celebrated his second win of the weekend this afternoon, as points leader Luke Stapleford boosted his championship lead.

This afternoon’s Feature race was shortened by two laps following earlier delays and as the lights changed, Oliver Barr made a flying start from the second row to charge through and into the lead.

Barr led into Lap Two but Stapleford jumped from third to first at Turn One and both Bayliss and Jack Kennedy also found their way past.  A lap later, Stapleford looked to miss a gear and ran wide, dropping down to third.

Stapleford was back ahead by the end of the fourth lap as the top three pulled away at the front and they all began to swap positions on Lap Six, the three of them swapping places numerous times over the coming laps.

On Lap Eight, Bayliss got ahead and just managed to edge a bit of a gap which great slightly over the coming laps. On Lap 10, Barr got past Kennedy as Stapleford continued to push but was unable to get close enough to make a solid move on the leader.

Bayliss held the spot all the way to the flag at the end of Lap 13, beating Stapleford by 0.317secs with Barr third. Kennedy crossed the line fourth, more than eight seconds behind Bayliss with his Honda Racing UK team-mate Dean Harrison fifth.
