Ray leads the way from Redding in opening Free Practice at TT Circuit Assen

Bradley Ray kicked off the Showdown at the TT Circuit Assen by leading the way in the opening British Superbike Championship Free Practice session, holding a 0.538s edge over Scott Redding at the chequered flag.

Ray had been the leading contender for most of the session for McAMS Yamaha, with Redding remaining in constant contention for the Hager PBM Racing Team. Kyle Ryde climbed back into third with his best lap of the session coming on his final run on the Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing Ducati, with the Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha pairing of Danny Kent and Rory Skinner completing the top five.

Leon Haslam fired the Moto Rapido Racing team into sixth place ahead of Max Cook and Ilya Mikhalchik who rounded out the top eight riders. Joe Talbot and Josh Brookes completed the top ten.
