R&G Moto4 British Cup: Ryan Frost is 2026 champion

04 October 2026

Ryan Frost clinched the first ever Moto4 British Cup championship with a race to spare at Donington Park this morning – becoming the first British champion of the 2026 season.

Frost pulled it back from a bad start in the 14-lap race to come through and take victory and maximum points, guaranteeing him the championship crown ahead of this afternoon’s final race.

Polesitter Alex Remesal-Jones was slow off the line and it was Frost’s title rival Jack Dunabie who hit the front at the start with Frost, who started down in ninth position making up one place in the opening lap.

With Dunabie out in front, Marco Holt and Luke Fitchett jostled for second position during the opening laps as behind, Frost began to make up ground, moving into P3 by the end of Lap Five.

Now up at the sharp end – and with Holt and Dunabie now beating each other up for the lead – Frost was able to get into the mix and a three-bike battle followed for several laps, with three becoming four on the penultimate lap as Jack Burrows came into play.

It all boiled down to a last-lap scrap, between the top four. Frost had led into the final lap ahead of Burrows, Dunabie and Holt. Holt managed to pass Burrows and Dunabie and made a bid for the front, doing his best to pass at the final corner but was unable to make it stick.

Frost crossed the line first, just 0.090secs ahead of Holt as Dunabie got the better of Burrows for third – but it wasn’t enough to keep his title hopes alive. Frost, taking maximum points was now 35 clear in the championship and officially the winner.

“It’s about time to be honest, we’ve had three really bad years but I’m so happy to get this,” he said. “It wouldn’t have been possible with out my mum, my dad, family and my team so thank you to everyone.”
