Quattro Group British Supersport Championship: Bayliss storms to win number nine

03 October 2026

Oli Bayliss celebrated his ninth victory since joining the series as he beat Jack Kennedy in today’s Sprint race.

Bayliss started from pole but it was points leader Luke Stapleford who got the best start and was first into Redgate – but Bayliss was first out, as Stapleford got caught up in the opening melee and dropped back to sixth.

Kennedy slotted into second with Oliver Barr in third and Josh Whatley fourth. By the end of the second lap, Whatley had passed Barr to move into third as behind, Stapleford passed Dean Harrison into fifth then despatched with Barr to move into fourth.

The top four didn’t change as the 10 lap race wore on. Bayliss led until the end of Lap Four when Kennedy dived up the inside at the Loop and led until Lap Seven, when Bayliss came back through.

Kennedy quickly stole the spot back for a lap but Bayliss made another move into Starkey’s on Lap Nine to get ahead and then pulled the pin and built enough of a gap to hold the lead to the line, beating Kennedy by 0.414secs.

Whatley was third, almost four seconds behind Kennedy as Stapleford took fourth with Dean Harrison fifth.
Cam Swain was the Cup winner, crossing the line p20 overall with Keo Walker second and Ben Tolliday third.
