Ryde: “This is the best title by miles”

22 October 2026

Kyle Ryde made history in the ZYN British Superbike Championship this season with the #BSBthreepeat and the Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing rider admits ‘this is the best title by miles’.

Ryde dedicated the winter to riding the Ducati V4 R road bike on track in Spain to beginning adapting from the Yamaha R1 and his dedication paid off, winning the opening races of the season and following it up to take the tally to 16 wins and a further 15 podium finishes.

It was a dream title defence for Ryde, with an incredible run of form and just the one DNF at Donington Park due to a component failure.

Ryde joins Niall Mackenzie and Ryuichi Kiyonari as a three-time champion as he now aims to add to his statistics and defend his number one plate again in 2027.

Ryde said: “Obviously the odds were in my favour coming into the weekend, but you never know what can happen at the final round, you saw what happened at Donington Park!

“We’ve done a good job all year and then there’s doubts in your mind that it could really mean nothing if something went wrong, so there was a lot of pressure, not just on me but also the team to get the bike over the line. Every race I have finished has been in the top four and it has been an amazing season.

“This is the best title by miles. I say that because of the way I reacted going over the line, screamed for a good 15 seconds, it was quite embarrassing actually! It felt so good; I have grown up watching Scott on TV and I know what a good rider he is, so to beat him on the exact same machinery chalks off something in my head.

“Now it comes down to stats and trying to add to those. I really enjoy my racing, my goal was always to be BSB champion, and now I have done it three times. These are moments you remember your whole life, it doesn’t last forever, so we need to cherish times like these when they come your way. I rode my heart out this season and now we can celebrate and start thinking about 2027!”
