Oli Bayliss got the better of championship leader Luke Stapleford this afternoon, as he emerged quickest overall at the end of the opening day.
Stapleford had led the way in this morning’s FP1, beating the Australian to the top spot by 0.196s – but the places were reversed in this afternoon’s session.
Bayliss clocked a 1min 30.021sec lap which was enough to put the Triumph Macadam Factory Racing rider ahead by just 0.028secs, forcing Stapleford to make do with the second quickest time.
Jack Kennedy, who sits second in the title chase, was third fastest, just ahead of his Honda Racing UK team-mate Dean Harrison as Josh Whatley was fifth.
In The Cup, it was Keo Walker who ended the day on top, with Cam Swain second and Ben Tolliday third.
