Quattro Group British Supersport Championship: Wildcard Jones wins final race of the year

18 October 2026

Wildcard entry Luke Jones took victory in a highly unusual British Supersport race as the season drew to a close this afternoon.

The race was late starting after a downpour shortly before the scheduled time and as some of the big hitters including Jack Kennedy and Ben Currie opted for slick tyres, few could’ve predicted the result.

Polesitter Dean Harrison was slow off the line as Oliver Barr and Oli Bayliss launched off the line and stormed to the front, quickly joined by Barr’s Binch Pro Ducati team-mate Carter Brown.

Brown hit the front but Barr was back ahead by the end of Lap Two, leading all the way to the penultimate lap. Behind, Jones had stormed through the pack  and when Brown made a mistake and ran off track on Lap Five, moved up to second.

Jones closed in on Barr and made the move for the front on the penultimate lap, quickly gapping Barr to secure the win on his first outing of the year. Barr was second with TJ Toms third, Oli Bayliss fourth and Brown fifth.
