Lucas Brown splashed to the top of the opening Supersport timesheets this morning as showers continued to hit Brands Hatch.

The season finale got off to a later start than planned after rain hit this morning – with some riders, including points leader Luke Stapleford, opting to sit the opening session out.

However, 19 riders did head out for FP1 and MSG Racing’s Brown set the pace with a 1min 38.520sec lap, enough to end the session on top and 0.656secs clear of McAMS Yamaha’s Ben Currie.

Carter Brown was third fastest at the flag, just ahead of his Binch Pro Ducati team-mate Oliver Barr, as Luke Jones rounded out the top five.

Honda Racing UK’s Jack Kennedy, who lies second in the points behind Stapleford, was sixth quickest.

In the Cup, Cam Swain was fastest in the class, with Stephen Thomas second and Ben Tolliday third.
