Vickers ready for the fight at Donington Park

01 October 2026

Ryan Vickers arrives at the penultimate round of the ZYN British Superbike Championship at Donington Park fresh off the announcement of his return with the Honda Racing UK team next season, and looking to be back in the hunt at the front again this weekend.

Vickers was a double race winner at both Thruxton and Cadwell Park, but earlier in the season the Donington Park circuit proved a tough round for him and the Honda Racing UK team, something that he is keen to turn around this weekend. Last time out, Vickers scored a trio of fourth place finishes and he is determined to be back in the podium fight again this weekend.

Vickers said: “Assen was overall a good weekend for me. Three fourth places, and considering how the weekend started, it was a really difficult start to the weekend compared to Thruxton and Cadwell, so we had to work really hard, change a lot of parts and trying a lot of new things with the bike to try and generate some grip. We were still at a disadvantage in the last race, but we were still able to put together a really good last race, the first ten laps were very strong and setting the lap record was a really nice thing to achieve for myself and for Honda.

“Now going into Donington, it’s a bit of mixed feelings really as at the start of the year it was a really tough start and we had some big problems with the bike. But we believe we have been able to fix them since then, but we still have that anticipation to see how the bike is when we get back to Donington, as the Ducati and the bimota were very strong there at the start of the year.

“I look forward to going back to Donington, as it’s a circuit I always really enjoy riding and the racing is always fantastic at the end of the year. Hopefully we’ll be in the fight and running at the front and we’ll try and get a few podiums!”
