Quattro Group British Supersport Championship: Stapleford doubles up with Feature Race win

04 May 2026

Luke Stapleford celebrated his second race win of the weekend this afternoon as he led multiple former champ Jack Kennedy home by almost two seconds.

Following his win yesterday, the Scarrs-Racing rider flew off the line from pole position and straight into the lead – and from there was never really challenged.

As Stapleford hit the front at the green light, Australian rookie Jack Mahaffy rocketed through from the second row into P2, as McAMS Yamaha’s Ben Currie slotted into third.

But Currie soon found a way past the rookie and into second place and the pack settled into the race. Behind, Honda Racing UK’s Kennedy was beginning to close in on Mahaffy, making the move into third on Lap Three.

Closing in on Currie, he finally found a way past on Lap 10 and started to chase down Stapleford, who was 0.872secs ahead.

But it wasn’t to be and Stapleford actually began to extend his lead and while Kennedy was able to pull away from Currie, he was unable to bridge the gap to the leader.

Stapleford took his second win of the weekend, 1.955secs ahead of Kennedy, as Currie crossed the line third, 1.201secs behind.

Kennedy’s team-mate Dean Harrison rode a strong race to take a well-deserved fourth place, as Lee Johnston managed to hold off Mahaffy for fifth.
