It was a ZYN British Superbike Championship battle at the top in the opening ROKiT Oxygen Performance Qualifying session of the season at Oulton Park this afternoon as Kyle Ryde held off Bradley Ray by 0.127s in the closing stages to capture the Omologato Pole Position.
Once again, Ryde and Ray traded blows at the top in the closing stages as the contenders prepare for the opening race of 2026 later this afternoon. Scott Redding had set the initial benchmark on the Hager PBM Racing Team, but he would end the session sixth fastest on row two after saving a huge moment on one of his flying laps.
Ray then went to the top of the times on the McAMS Yamaha, but Ryde was pushing too and the pair swapped positions, but as the chequered flag waved it was the Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing rider who had the advantage.
Leon Haslam stole the final place on the front row on his final lap of the session for the Moto Rapido Racing team, pushing Max Cook back onto row two as he prepares for the race debut of the AJN Steelstock bimota.
Storm Stacey and Redding complete the second row, with rookie Joe Talbot progressing through ROKiT Oxygen Performance Qualifying 1 to take seventh place with Rory Skinner completing row two. Ryan Vickers and Lee Jackson completing the top ten.
