Ryde reigns at home to be crowned the Carole Nash King of Donington

17 May 2026

Kyle Ryde celebrated a double win in the ZYN British Superbike Championship at Donington Park, claiming the second victory of the day for Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing as Scott Redding fought hard to repeat his race one glory from yesterday.

At the start of the race, Ryde launched into the lead ahead of Max Cook and Redding with Bradley Ray, Christian Iddon and Leon Haslam forming the initial chasing pack.

Ryde was holding off Cook and Redding but the BMW Safety Car was deployed on lap six when Charlie Nesbitt crashed out at Starkeys.

When the race resumed, Redding was instantly on the attack and made a move at the Old Hairpin on his AJN Steelstock bimota rival to fight through into second.

Ryde was calm under pressure and despite a determined Redding pushing hard; the reigning champion had the edge at the chequered flag. The Hager PBM Racing Team rider completed a hat trick of podium finishes in second, as did Cook to celebrate a treble podium for the first time.

Bradley Ray had another solid performance in fourth place for McAMS Yamaha, holding off another previous title-winner Leon Haslam, with Glenn Irwin completing the top six.

Rory Skinner was the leading Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha in seventh place as Ryan Vickers claimed eighth place ahead of Josh Brookes and Danny Kent.

The race ended prematurely for several riders including TAG Honda’s Fraser Rogers who crashed out on the second lap at Redgate. There were also two incidents during the race, the first involving Andrew Irwin and Joe Talbot at the Melbourne Loop and another between Christian Iddon and Lee Jackson at the Old Hairpin, which also ended their races.
