Pirelli National Superstock Championship: Allingham wins dramatic seven lap dash

17 May 2026

David Allingham won a highly dramatic rain-hit race this afternoon after hitting the front on the final lap to beat Matt Truelove.

The 15-lap race was stopped on Lap Six and as rain started to fall was declared wet to be run over seven laps with two warm up laps.

Half of the pack came in to change to wet tyres after the firs warm up lap while the rest – including Allingham and other front runners, opted to stay on dry rubber.

Although the wet runners looked to have the edge early on, the track dried over the opening laps and it became a battle for the bold, with the lead swapping between Allingham, Declan Connell and Truelove.

Allingham led over the line to start the final lap and had enough of a gap to be safe, as it all kicked off behind, as Connell passed Truelove and then Truelove took the spot back, while behind Simon Reid closed in and passed Connell for third at the Loop.

Points leader Allingham took the win by 0.488s with Truelove second, Reid third, Connell fourth and Luke Mossey fifth.
