Defending champion Kyle Ryde is heading into his home round of the ZYN British Superbike Championship this weekend (May 15/16/17) bidding to maintain his winning streak after the perfect start to his title defence at the season opener.
The Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing rider completed a treble at Oulton Park as the local hero bids to maintain his momentum in front of his home crowd, but believes it won’t be easy
Ryde said: “Rolling into Donington Park, after a brilliant round one where it couldn’t have gone any better, so if I can anything close to what happened at Oulton Park I will be a happy lad! We just need to have another weekend where we tick things off. The objective is obviously get to Brands Hatch at the end of the year with as many points possible to give myself the best chance of winning the title again.
“I am looking forward to riding the new bike at Donington Park, but I don’t think it will be easy as we haven’t had any testing there, as we missed the test, so we are going to have to figure it out real quick. But I am looking forward to it and riding there; I love the track and can’t wait to see all the fans, friends and family who are coming out to support me so hopefully it is another great weekend.”
