True Heroes Racing set for 2026 season with an expanded five-strong rider line-up

24 March 2026

True Heroes Racing return for the 2026 season with a five-strong rider line-up across the Pirelli National Superstock Championship and ROKiT OFF BMW F 900 R Cup, continuing to support wounded, injured and sick UK armed forces personnel and military veterans since their formation in 2012.

True Heroes Racing have been regular contenders within the BSB support classes, having had an ever-growing presence since breaking new ground with their first amputee rider in 2013. This season they will again be fielding two Honda CBR1000RR-R SPs in the Pirelli National Superstock Championship, ridden for the second consecutive season by UK military veterans Charlie White and Paul Cunvin.

The team have an expanded three-bike presence in the ROKiT OFF BMW F 900 R Cup, with British Army veteran Leon Wilton returning for his second season in the class, joined by returning rider and serving RAF Lossiemouth based Royal Air Force aircraft technician, Cpl Kenny Macleod.  Ready to line-up on the latest BMW F 900 R machine, Macleod hopes one of his 2026 season highlights will be his home race event at the Knockhill circuit in Scotland.

Alongside these two established BMW riders is a rider who epitomises what True Heroes Racing stands for; after losing his right leg below the knee, ex Parachute Regiment soldier, Chris Duggan, has continued his passion for motorbikes.  After crossing the Alps on a specially built motorcycle in 2020 as part of The Speedshop TV program, he needed a new challenge and after an introduction to Phil Spencer and True Heroes Racing, the challenge was on!

After achieving his ACU race licence and taking to the track just five years ago, racing at BSB has always been his ambition and this year he makes the transition from the True Heroes Racing Grassroots programme run at NG Road Racing Club to the ROKiT

True Heroes Racing Founder and Team Principle, Phil Spencer, said: "It's great to be increasing the number of opportunities we provide, both on and off the track, for UK armed forces veterans again this year.

“Charlie and Leon both enter their fifth consecutive seasons with us competing at BSB and Paul and Kenny start their second.  Add to them the culmination of our inaugural Grassroots rider pathway participant, ex Para Chris Duggan, who makes the step up from Club racing; no mean feat when you understand his additional challenges as a single leg amputee and the fact he took to the track for the very first time only five years ago.

“2026 is shaping up to be another great year for True Heroes Racing. As always thanks have to go out to all our sponsors and supporters who make our beneficiary programs a reality year after year, and to Stuart Higgs and the whole BSB team who have actively supported our mission to champion disability inclusion within all areas of the sport since we started competing with them in 2013."

British Superbike Championship Series Director Stuart Higgs commented: “True Heroes Racing are a truly remarkable team within the series and to compete on this stage shows an incredible level of determination to overcome the adversity they have faced. For over a decade, True Heroes Racing have supported UK armed forces personnel and military veterans injured in the line of service for their country, and given them the opportunity to be part of the team.

“There are some compelling stories throughout the team from the riders to their crew, and it is fantastic that True Heroes Racing continue to grow their presence within the paddock led by Phil Spencer, whilst sharing their message of championing disability inclusion within the sport. I wish them a successful season in both the Pirelli National Superstock Championship and ROKiT OFF BMW F 900 R Cup.”
