Graeme Irwin back in the hot seat: “I am absolutely buzzing and can’t wait for Snetterton”

30 June 2026

Graeme Irwin will be back in action at the ZYN British Superbike Championship round at Snetterton this weekend (July 3/4/5) after a positive performance with the MET fonaCAB Racing team at Knockhill, deputising for his injured brother Andrew.

With Andrew still on the road to recovery, Graeme will be back in action at Snetterton and aiming to build on his point-scoring finish at Knockhill after making his return to competitive racing action.

Irwin said: “Knockhill was awesome! Obviously going into the weekend, I didn’t know what to expect and I think I actually surprised myself, even in the wet as I was something like 1.3 off and I thought ‘wow, we are a lot closer than what we thought’.

“We did have a little technical that ruled us out of the first race, but probably to be fair, how stiff my body was, probably did me a favour for the Sunday! I hadn’t ridden a Superbike competitively in six years and then going to Knockhill…. I felt like I had been walking around like Popeye after the weekend, just trying to get rid of the pump in my arms.

“I am looking forward now to Snetterton – I am absolutely buzzing and can’t wait, so fingers crossed I can make another step forward and keep enjoying it and taking it weekend by weekend. Honestly a massive thank you to everyone that has supported this journey, this crazy time and I am going to keep smiling!”
