Honda Racing UK’s Ryan Vickers will line up in the Superbike World Championship round at Misano next weekend (June12/13/14), as he deputises in the Honda HRC team for Jake Dixon as he continues his recovery from injury.
Dixon returned to action in last weekend’s Aragón event, but despite making progress, he continues his rehabilitation as Vickers returns with the team after also competing with the team at the Philip Island season opener in Australia.
Vickers’ arrival next weekend increases the representation of BSB alumni to five, including previous champions Alex Lowes, Tarran Mackenzie and Tommy Bridewell, plus previous British Supersport Champion Sam Lowes.
Vickers said: “I am super excited to get the call up from HRC asking me if I wanted to replace Jake as he continues his recovery from injury. It is a fantastic opportunity for me and I am really excited to be joining the factory HRC team, it’s always a dream to be part of a factory team at one of my favourite circuits, so I am super thankful to HRC for putting their faith in me. I wish Jake all the best and I hope he makes a speedy recovery.”
