Scott Redding celebrated being back on top of the ZYN British Superbike Championship podium in race three at Knockhill, claiming his second victory of the season for the Hager PBM Racing Team after an early battle with Bradley Ray. Kyle Ryde claimed the final podium position following a tussle with Ryan Vickers, who again put Honda Racing UK in contention for the top three.
At the start of the race, Ray had launched off the Omologato Pole Positon into the lead from Redding and Ryde with Vickers holding fourth place. A lap later and the Hager PBM Racing Team rider attacked with a dive down the inside at the Hairpin.
The race was then red flagged on the third lap when Danny Kent suffered a technical problem on the Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha.
On the restart over 25 laps, Ray again got the jump on the chasing pack and again Redding, Ryde and Vickers were the leading quartet at the end of the opening lap.
Ray was holding strong at the front of the field until lap 14 when Redding made another bold move at the Hairpin to capture the lead, holding off the McAMS Yamaha rider and then firing in fast laps towards the end of the race to take the chequered flag first for the second time this season.
Ray delivered another determined second place, whilst Ryde had made a mistake on lap 17 at the Hairpin, running wide and giving Vickers the opportunity he needed to move ahead.
Ryde was fighting back though and regained the position three laps later at turn three, then was able to keep the Honda Racing UK rider at bay until the finish.
Rory Skinner was fifth on the lone Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha, getting the better of a beaten up Glenn Irwin after his race two crash earlier this afternoon, with Max Cook and Leon Haslam completing the top eight.
Josh Brookes delivered another strong top ten finish in ninth, just ahead of Christian Iddon on the Sencat Racing Yamaha.
