Kyle Ryde topped the ZYN British Superbike Championship Pre-Qualifying times at Knockhill ahead of Bradley Ray as the build-up now be begins to ROKiT Oxygen Performance Qualifying. Just 0.949s covered the top 18 riders, in a characteristically close session.
Ray had been leading the field before Ryde posted his fastest lap of the session to fire the Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing Ducati ahead, with Storm Stacey completing the top three following another strong showing for the Bathams AJN Racing Ducati team.
Scott Redding held fourth place for the Hager PBM Racing Team; he had been at the sharp end throughout the 15-minute session, remaining ahead of Danny Kent on the leading Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha and Josh Brookes completed the top six for DAO Racing Honda.
Christian Iddon was again holding a strong position for Sencat Racing Yamaha in seventh place, holding off Rory Skinner on the second of the Cheshire Mouldings Yamahas and Glenn Irwin, who had been the pace-setter during the early stages of the session.
Ryan Vickers was tenth fastest for Honda Racing UK ahead of Charlie Nesbitt, with Lee Jackson locking out 12th in the final moments of the session to deny both Leon Haslam and Max Cook of a confirmed place in ROKiT Oxygen Performance Qualifying 2. The pair will now need to line up in Q1, later this afternoon.
