Pirelli British Sportbike Championship: Durham pips Davidson and McCabe after hard-fought scrap

20 June 2026

Asher Durham celebrated his first win and podium of the 2026 season with a strong victory at the end of a dramatic 20 lap Sportbike race.

Polesitter Cameron Dawson got away well at the lights and led for the first couple of laps with Durham running second and Alfie Davidson third.

Following a Safety Car period for a few laps, it was all still looking the same by Lap Seven – until Harley McCabe, who had picked his way through from fifth, suddenly passed Durham for second and then made a move for the front a few laps later.

McCabe led for five laps but suddenly Davidson, who had been running third behind Durham, passed them both and hit the front. McCabe briefly got back ahead with two laps to go but couldn’t hold off Davidson who took the place straight back.

But it wasn’t over yet as Durham scorched past them both on the penultimate lap and managed to hold off another attempt by Davidson to cross the line first.

Davidson had to settle for second with McCabe third, Dawson fourth and Adon Davie fifth.
