Oli Bayliss beat points leader Luke Stapleford to the opening day bragging rights this afternoon as he powered to the best lap of second practice.
The Australian went one better than his second place in this morning’s session as he clocked a timesheet-topping lap of 1min 36.850secs in the second half of this afternoon’s session.
It was enough to beat the best time set in FP1 by Scars-Racing Ducati’s Stapleford by 0.211secs, giving him the best lap of the day on combined times.
Stapleford ended day one in second place as Dean Harrison was third, just ahead of his Honda Racing UK team-mate Jack Kennedy, as Ben Currie set the fifth best lap.
Keo Walker emerged fastest on combined times in the Cup class, closely followed by Cam Swain and James Alderson.
