Kyle Ryde leads the ZYN British Superbike Championship standings to Oulton Park this weekend as the defending champion bids to keep his rivals behind him and the Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing team on top as the season reaches the halfway point.
Ryde started the season strongly at the Cheshire venue, claiming the opening victories of the campaign after a battle with Leon Haslam and Bradley Ray. Now the championship chase returns for the second visit of the season and the reigning champion won’t be giving an inch in his quest for a third title.
Ryde said: “Brands Hatch was obviously a great weekend overall; I still lead the championship and with an extra two points so that was a great weekend’s racing and I really enjoyed battling with Scott and Max. It wasn’t easy! In the last race, I had a few issues that I think we have hopefully sorted for the forthcoming rounds of the season.
“I am looking forward to going back to Oulton Park where we had a brilliant weekend at the start of the season and the bike worked really well. I am not sure how it will work now as obviously things have changed a fair bit, but we know we can do well around there, so the weather looks alright and hopefully it stays like that and we should be good as we try to add to the 15 trophies we have already this year!”
