David Allingham stretched his championship lead with his sixth win from seven races in this afternoon’s Superstock race.
The SMS/Nicholl Oils BMW rider flew off the line from pole and into the lead at the start, closely followed by Luke Mossey on the Milenco by Padgetts Motorcycles Honda as Lewis Rollo slotted into third.
Josh Owens, who started third on the grid, was battling with Scott Swann for fourth in the opening laps while up front, Mossey dived into the lead on the fourth lap.
But Owens’ hopes ended in the gravel after a huge crash moments later which brought out the Safety Car for three laps and when it went back in at the start of lap eight, Allingham tried to get past Mossey into the lead at Turn One but ran wide.
However, he wasn’t about to let that put him off and pulled the same move a lap later. This time it stuck and from there he led all the way to the flag as the battle for second place was on.
Rollo dived past Mossey into P2 at the start of Lap 12 and a lap later, Swann – who was running fourth – had a technical issue and retired.
Mossey wasn’t done yet and had a final push, passing Rollo into Turn One on the final lap and heading off after Allingham, who was just too far ahead to be caught. Mossey had to settle for second ahead of Rollo with newly wed Tom Ward fourth and Billy McConnell fifth.
