Ilya Mikhalchik and the ROKiT BMW Motorrad British Superbike Race team continued to build on their results, scoring their best result of the 2026 ZYN British Superbike Championship at Snetterton with a strong ninth place finish in the opening race.
Mikhalchik scored his first top ten finish at Knockhill, before improving again to ninth at Snetterton in race one. The Ukrainian then was involved in a turn two incident before claiming 12th place in the final race and now determined to continue their progress on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit this weekend (July 17/18/19).
Mikhalchik said: “For sure, I would say I am obviously really happy about making more steps again at Snetterton. We were consistently around the top ten in practice and we were in the top 11 for qualifying and I had a good start in race one and gained a few positons. The race was then red flagged and I had some small issues and it made it difficult to ride, but we got a top nine position.
“In race two I also had a good start and then unfortunately I got caught up with the other guys and then in race three I was starting from the back and coming through in the end. It is clear on what we need to improve and already we are feeling better to fight for the guys around the top ten area.
“Now we want to make more steps to come inside the top ten and fight the guys there. The next few tracks are typically hard UK tracks, but I am hoping we can also be competitive there and make some steps and keep our momentum.”
