Iddon and Sencat Racing Yamaha aim for more at Brands Hatch

Christian Iddon and the Sencat Racing Yamaha team equalled their best result of the ZYN British Superbike Championship season last time out and Snetterton, and looked set to have their biggest points haul of the campaign before a technical problem forced them out of the opening race.

The weekend started steadily as Iddon and the team targeted a good setting and the pace continued to improve with an eighth place in ROKiT Oxygen Performance Qualifying. The first race was initially looking positive, with Iddon holding sixth place when an engine problem forced him out of the action.

After the disappointment of race one, Sunday provided some strong results despite Iddon feeling overnight. Race two saw Iddon secure fifth place to equal his season best performance, before completing the weekend with seventh place.

Iddon said: "After a hard start to the weekend at Snetterton, I really feel like we made good progress throughout the event and I left there feeling good and looking forward to the next round.

"The pace last weekend was absolutely crazy and I posted my fastest ever lap around Snetterton in qualifying which was great, but that only placed me eighth on the grid so we still had work to do.

"Obviously the engine letting go in at the end of the first race was frustrating, but these things do happen. Without that though, we would have had our biggest points’ haul of the year to date so that shows progress."
