Skinner boosted after battling from back of the grid to season best result

10 July 2026

Rory Skinner and Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha enjoyed a confidence boost at Snetterton on Sunday as the Scottish rider delivered an impressive charge from the back of the grid to secure his best result of the 2026 ZYN British Superbike Championship season.

Skinner was a luckless victim in the turn two incident, which saw him crashing out of race one, and subsequently putting him 19th on the grid on the seventh row. The Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha rider produced a hard-charging performance in race two, rebounding to claim his best result of the season so far in fourth place, before ending race three in sixth.

Skinner said: “It was a tough weekend at Snetterton up until Sunday. Sunday kind of then just turned everything around and we seemed to find something in morning warm up after the boys had worked all night to get the bike fixed after someone else’s mistake, so it was good to end it on a positive note really.

“You know the first race on Sunday, coming from the back of the grid to fourth has got to be a highlight for me. It is my best result of the year so far and to somehow have done it from the back of the grid in a dry race was I think really positive. It has filled me with a bit more confidence with the bike and what we are capable of doing.

“Going into Brands Hatch, I think it is a track that the Yamaha has always worked really well at and now that we have got a bit of momentum going from Snetterton on Sunday, we can hopefully carry it on and continue in the right direction.”
