R&G Moto4 British Cup: Day claims pole in last lap dash at Silverstone

Harrison Day claimed the pole position in the R&G Moto4 British Cup at Silverstone, ahead of tomorrow’s opening race at the British round of the MotoGP World Championship, snatching a career first in Qualifying.

In a hectic qualifying session, Fitchett set the early target in the session from Remesal and Foster before Remesal gained the advantage with less than ten minutes remaining.

Fitchett fought back to regain the advantage at the top of the times but in the final seconds, Day found 0.176s to move ahead with Dunabie also improving on his final lap to move into second and relegate Fitchett into third.

Remesal heads the second row ahead of Humphries with Mason Foster completing the top six.
