Bradley Ray remained ahead of his ZYN British Superbike Championship rivals ahead of the opening race of the weekend at Cadwell Park as the McAMS Yamaha rider stormed to the top of the times in the Omologato Superpole session.
Ray was last to take to the track after topping the combined Free Practice times and he was able to hold the edge by an impressive 0.396s to fend off his rivals ahead of race one in Lincolnshire.
Lee Jackson had been the first rider on track to set the initial benchmark onboard the DAO Racing Honda, but it was short at the top as Scott Redding instantly went ahead for the Hager PBM Racing Team after progressing from ROKiT Oxygen Performance Qualifying.
AJN Steelstock bimota’s Cook then toppled Redding from the top, but then it was the Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha of Rory Skinner going ahead.
Leon Haslam then went into second place behind Skinner to ease Cook down the order, before Storm Stacey completed his lap to put the Bathams AJN Racing Ducati into second place behind Skinner.
Skinner was holding strong at the top of the times, with Kyle Ryde unable to topple him from the top as he went second on the Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing Ducati.
Ray was the final rider left to take on the challenge and he delivered a lap that would put him on the Omologato Pole Positon for the opening race this afternoon ahead of Skinner and Ryde.
Stacey will head the second row ahead of Haslam and Joe Talbot, who completed his first Omologato Superpole ahead of Ryan Vickers and Christian Iddon with Cook in ninth at the conclusion.
Redding will start tenth ahead of Jason O'Halloran, Lee Jackson, Glenn Irwin, Ilya Mikhalchik and Josh Brookes.
