Luke Stapleford stayed ahead in this afternoon’s second free practice session at Cadwell Park to lead the times at the end of the opening day.
But he could find himself with his hands full tomorrow as series rookie Oli Bayliss closed the gap this afternoon as he got more familiar with the unique Lincs track.
After heading the times this morning, points leader Stapleford made easy work of topping the timesheets in FP2, clocking a 1min 28.163sec lap.
And it was some 0.824secs clear of Triumph Macadam Factory Racing’s Bayliss, who ended the session much closer than he had in FP1.
Dean Harrison was third quickest, 0.195secs behind Bayliss and 0.108secs ahead of his Honda Racing UK team-mate Jack Kennedy as Oliver Barr was fifth.
Ben Tolliday continued to improve in the Cup class, finishing the session P20 overall with Michael Large-Taylor clocking the 24th best time, although still outside of the qualifying maximum time.
