Bathams AJN Racing Ducati’s Storm Stacey topped the ZYN British Superbike Championship Official Test times at Cadwell Park ahead of this weekend’s Bank Holiday round in Lincolnshire, displacing Honda Racing UK’s Ryan Vickers from the top in the final three minutes of the session.
The session had started in damp conditions after earlier rainfall, but as the track continued to dry, the lap times began to tumble in the closing stages as several riders ventured out for the first time.
Vickers had been the benchmark going into the final ten minutes of the session, but Stacey’s final laps put him ahead in the closing moments, where he remained until the chequered flag.
Danny Buchan was third fastest as he moved up the order in the final moment to put the MET fonaCAB Racing Ducati in the top three, just ahead of Glenn Irwin on the leading Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing Ducati.
Christian Iddon was fifth fastest on the Sencat Racing Yamaha, edging out Josh Brookes who completed 37 laps, and was the rider who spent the most amount of time on track in all conditions on the DAO Racing Honda.
Kyle Ryde was seventh fastest on the second Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing Ducati with Leon Haslam, Ilya Mikhalchik and Jason O'Halloran completing the top ten ahead of tomorrow’s Free Practice.
