Marley Mackenzie remained the class of the field today as he took his second win of the weekend to boost his points lead.
The drama began even before the 10-lap race started, as South Africa’s Ryan van Nieuwkerk was hit with a technical issue on the grid and was forced to start from Pit Lane instead of P2.
At the lights, Luca Wilkinson got the best start to take the lead but it only lasted as far as Cascades when Mackenzie passed him. From there it was job done for the championship leader who never came under any real pressure as he stormed to another win.
Laken Payne crossed the line second, 0.895secs behind Mackenzie with Ben Jolliffe third and Wilkinson fourth.
Meanwhile, van Nieuwkerk made a good recovery, scything through the pack to eventually finish fifth.
