Asher Durham picked up where he left off yesterday as he stormed to his second win of the weekend – and closed in on championship leader Alfie Davidson.
Following yesterday’s victory, the Powerslide Suzuki rider rode a faultless Race Two to hit the front at the perfect time to pip Carl Harris over the line.
Durham was fastest off the line from second on the grid but Harrison Mackay soon took the lead before the Safety Car was deployed on the opening lap following a crash involving four riders a little further back.
When it went in at the start of Lap Four, the race began as several riders fought for the front, the lead swapping throughout between Durham, Davidson, Harris, Harley McCabe and Adon Davie.
Davidson was leading as the final lap began, with Durham behind in second place. He chose the perfect place to make a pass and was able to lead into the final chicane. Harris was right behind him but couldn’t find a way past and as Durham crossed the line to take win number two of the weekend, Harris had to settle for second – just 0.030secs behind.
Davidson took third with Davie fourth as returning former champion Richard Cooper crossed the line fifth.
