Asher Durham celebrated victory after a race-long battle in today’s opening Sportbike scrap.
The Powerslide Suzuki rider beat Daniel Goodman by 0.216secs after a lights-to-flag fight which involved several of the front runners.
Goodman, who has looked strong all weekend, took the lead from polesitter Carl Harris at the start and led for the first two laps until Durham scythed past.
From there, the lead changed several times between Goodman, Durham and Harris, with the likes of Adon Davie, points leader Alfie Davidson and Lewis Smart also getting involved in the scrap for the podium.
Goodman led into the final lap from Durham – but Durham wasn’t done and made a move in the closing stages, hitting the front and defending the position to take the win by 0.265secs.
Goodman was second, ahead of Harris with Davie fourth and Smart fifth.
