Leon Haslam surged to the top of an incredibly close ZYN British Superbike Championship Free Practice 2 at Thruxton this afternoon, firing the Moto Rapido Racing team to the top of the times by just 0.082s ahead of Ryan Vickers in the closing moments. Just 0.933s covered the top 17 riders.
Haslam set his fastest lap mid-session, and despite his rivals closing in, they couldn’t topple him from the top, despite Vickers coming within 0.082s with just two minutes on the clock, pushing Scott Redding back into third place.
Bradley Ray was fourth fastest to lead the Yamaha charge for the McAMS Yamaha team, ahead of Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha pairing Danny Kent and Rory Skinner as they completed the top six.
Lee Jackson was seventh fastest ahead of reigning champion Kyle Ryde and Storm Stacey, with Charlie Nesbitt completing the top ten ahead of Pre-Qualifying.
