Jason O'Halloran arrives at Thruxton for the next round of the ZYN British Superbike Championship feeling confident at a circuit that has delivered him multiple race wins in recent seasons, as he aims for further improvement with Honda Racing UK.
O’Halloran arrives in Hampshire off the best of his season best result of a seventh place at Oulton Park, but knowing that the circuit can prove to be a sensational spoiler in the races. O’Halloran lies second in the all-time win list at the circuit, just two race wins adrift of fellow Australian Josh Brookes who leads with nine ahead of this weekend.
O’Halloran said: “Last time out at Oulton Park was a positive round for us, we have had some issues this year which have made things a little bit tricky and we have been working really hard to resolve them. At Oulton we made a good step to make those problems a little easier to manage and straight away my results were better and the speed across the weekend was good and competitive in all sessions.
“It was a perfect way to head into Thruxton; a track that I really enjoy, a track that I have had a lot of success at. In the last ten starts there, I have had something like eight wins, one second and one third and then I didn’t start the 2024 races because we had an engine problem in warm up and then I got hurt.
“I can’t wait to get back there, I missed the races last year but I watched them on TV and really missed being a part of it. Off the back of a strong Oulton Park, obviously, we have been continuing to work in the team between these last two weeks and we are looking forward to another strong weekend and try to keep moving further up the order.
“Who knows? Anything is possible at Thruxton and I am feeling confident and positive, feel in really good shape and riding the bike well, and every time we make improvements and move forward. I can’t wait to get stuck in at the weekend and look forward to some strong performances.”
