Ryde takes top spot in penultimate test session at Oulton Park

22 April 2026

Kyle Ryde moved to the top of the ZYN British Superbike Championship times in the penultimate session of the R&G Official Test at Oulton Park, setting the fastest lap of the event so far, to lead Storm Stacey by 0.764s.

Ryde moved to the top of the times on the Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing Ducati, pushing yesterday’s pace-setter Stacey into second place, with just a further 0.003s separating the Bathams AJN Racing Ducati rider from Glenn Irwin in third.

Max Cook had another strong showing in fourth place on the AJN Steelstock bimota, with McAMS Yamaha’s Bradley Ray completing the top five ahead of the final session of pre-season testing.

Joe Talbot was sixth in the session, before he crashed heavily at Old Hall Corner after suffering an apparent technical problem. He was conscious and taken to the medical centre for initial assessment for concussion and back pain and then transferred to Stoke Hospital.

Leon Haslam was holding seventh place when the session was red flagged for Talbot’s crash for the Moto Rapido Racing team, with Scott Redding, Lee Jackson and Rory Skinner completing the top ten.
