Sylvain Guintoli will join the LEW 8TEN Racing BMW Motorrad team on track to test alongside Peter Hickman at Donington Park for the R&G Official Test this week (April 3/4), as Davey Todd continues his recovery from injury.
Guintoli is closely associated with BMW Motorrad, competing for them in the Endurance World Championship. He will be working with the 8TEN Racing team to assist with their continued development ahead of the 2026 season. Guintoli brings a wealth of experience to the team, having competed at the highest level of MotoGP, has celebrated both Superbike World Championship and Endurance World Championship titles, and also competed in BSB where he was a race winner.
Guintoli said: “I am really excited to come to the BSB test and try the BMW BSB package and I hope I can help the 8TEN Racing team with some more feedback. It’s always good to get some opinions from different riders and having experienced the BMW package in World Superbike and World Endurance, hopefully I can give them some interesting feedback that might help them for the season. I want to wish Davey Todd a full and quick recovery and I am looking forward to it and seeing everyone there.”
Team Manager Darren Jones commented: “It’s really exciting to have a rider of Sylvain’s calibre joining us for the test this week. It is always valuable to have feedback from different riders as we then have more data to work with as we continue our development work. It will be interesting, as Sylvain has tested the BMW M 1000 RR in various different specifications, and we welcome his experience. Of course, the whole team also wish Davey a speedy recovery from his injuries; he is doing everything he can to return to fitness and we look forward to welcoming him back.”
