Kyle Ryde took charge in this morning’s Bennetts British Superbike Championship warm up as the Nitrous Competitions Racing Yamaha rider led the first on track action ahead of the three races from Scott Redding by 0.254s.
Ryde led the way throughout the session, keeping Hager PBM Ducati’s Redding, who took yesterday’s opening race win, at bay with a best lap of 1m:27.257s.
Honda Racing UK’s Andrew Irwin had been sitting third quickest for much of the session, but was eased down to fourth by the McAMS Racing Yamaha of Danny Kent in the closing moments, who moved up to third.
Bathams AJN Racing BMW rider Storm Stacey set the fifth fastest lap, just ahead of the second Nitrous Competitions Racing Yamaha of Glenn Irwin.
Back out after tipping off yesterday, MasterMac Honda’s Charlie Nesbitt ended the session seventh quickest, just ahead of the AJN Steelstock Kawasaki pairing of Christian Iddon and Max Cook, as Leon Haslam rounded out the top 10 for the Moto Rapido Ducati Racing squad.
