Ferre Fleerackers kept a cool head to saunter to this evening’s Sportbike race win after early leader Harrison Dessoy was forced to retire from the lead.
Today’s race was delayed several hours after rain this morning and when it finally got underway, PHR Performance Triumph’s Dessoy hit the front to lead into Redgate.
Polesitter Fleerackers settled into second, keeping close to Dessoy as the pair edged a gap at the front over the coming laps. But it all went wrong for Dessoy on Lap Eight as he slowed before parking his machine.
This gave Fleerackers a clear run to victory, as behind, Asher Durham managed to hold off a charging Fenton Seabright and the pair finished second and third respectively.
Casey O’Gorman was fourth, despite a three second time penalty for an unfair manoeuvre, as Rhys Stephenson took fifth.
