Kyle Ryde topped the final Bennetts British Superbike Championship Free Practice session at Donington Park this morning, holding a comfortable advantage over Charlie Nesbitt in second on the MasterMac Honda and Storm Stacey on the Bathams AJN Racing BMW.
Ryde heads into today’s opening race with a narrow two point advantage over Bradley Ray in the standings, with his closest title rival ending this morning’s Free Practice session in 16th place for Raceways Yamaha.
Leon Haslam was fourth fastest for Moto Rapido Ducati Racing ahead of Scott Redding, who topped the times yesterday for Hager PBM Ducati. Danny Kent completed the top six for McAMS Racing Yamaha with Tommy Bridewell back inside the top eight. Max Cook, Andrew Irwin and Rory Skinner completed the top ten.
The Bennetts BSB contenders now look ahead to a one-stage 20 minute Bandero Café Shoot Out Qualifying session for all riders to determine the grid for the opening race this afternoon.
