James Cook stole today’s Superteen win right out of the hands of Henry Snell with a bold last corner move.
After hitting the front at the start, points leader Snell looked to have it all in hand as the laps ticked down. However, Cook was never from his rear wheel and had closed right in as they began the final lap.
Cook made a lunge past his rival to take the lead but Snell looked to have it all in control as he was later on the brakes into the Loop and emerging ahead.
But Cook wasn’t done and made a bold move around the outside of Snell as they rounded Goddards for the final time and charged to the line, taking victory by 0.236secs.
Snell had to settle for second with Marley Mackenzie third, Craig Dance fourth and Luca Hopkins fifth.
