Nikki Coates and Kieran Smith will start tomorrow’s Heat races from pole position after leading the way in today’s Qualifying session.
Coates banked the fastest lap with a 1min 36.461s to go 0.430s clear of Smith, who had been fastest in the opening session, following a string of good results in recent races.
Coates’ main title rival Barry Burrell could only manage the third best time today and will line up second to Coates in Heat One, with Joe Walton – fifth fastest – rounding out the front row.
Smith, meanwhile, will lead Heat Two, with reigning champion Thomas Strudwick, back out on the Case Morto machine starting from second position as Josh Corner will start third after banking the sixth fastest lap.
