During the recent Donington Park round on 6 September, a serious incident occurred on the opening lap of the Pirelli National Superstock Championship race involving Callum Grigor and Nathan Harrison resulting in both riders being hospitalised with significant injuries. In the case of Callum Grigor, he was initially listed as critical and placed in a medically induced coma for over two weeks.
After 22 days in ICU, his family are relieved to share that Callum has now been moved to the Major Trauma Ward to continue his recovery. He will be transferred to a hospital in Glasgow next week, where he’ll keep working on his rehabilitation.
Nathan Harrison who was also seriously injured after being struck at high speed, suffered a back injury and a broken femur, which was operated on shortly after admission to hospital. After being transferred from Queens Medical Centre Nottingham to Broadgreen Hospital in Liverpool, Nathan has now been discharged and has returned home to the Isle of Man to continue his recovery and rehabilitation.
