Quattro Group British Supersport Championship: Stapleford powers to Feature race win

21 September 2025

Luke Stapleford celebrated today’s Feature race win after beating Joe Talbot by just 0.044secs

At the start, Moto Rapido Ducati’s Ben Currie seared through from the third row to lead into Turn One as both Jack Kennedy and Eugene McManus – who started on the front row alongside polesitter Stapleford – dropped back to ninth and 10th.

Stapleford held second for the first two laps before falling back to fifth as Talbot stormed through to hit the front on the fourth lap.

Talbot quickly built a lead of almost three seconds as behind, Stapleford was playing catch up, quietly picking off riders to fight back to second place by Lap 10.

By now, Talbot was 2.2secs ahead and Stapleford put his head down and reeled him in, the gap dropping to 0.144s by the start of the final lap.

As they entered the final lap, both riders were sliding as they pushed hard, Stapleford right on his rear wheel and pushing hard, eventually finding the space to squeeze past and power to the line.

Talbot was second, 2.417s ahead of Oliver Barr with Fenton Seabright fourth and Rhys Irwin fifth.
